A MOTORCYCLIST remains in a critical condition in hospital following a crash in Glazebrook this morning.

The 18-year-old victim from Wigan - named locally as Callum Evans -  was airlifted to hospital shortly after the collision where he is being treated for his injuries. 

Both Cheshire Police and the North West Ambulance Service have confirmed that the man suffered serious injuries and was taken via air ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital.

Emergency services were called to Glazebrook Lane at 8.20am following the collision involving a car and a motorbike near to All Creatures Veterinary Centre.

The road was blocked between Cadishead and Culcheth but has now reopened in both directions.

The area between A57 Liverpool Road and Bank Street remained closed until around 11.45am today, Thursday, while investigations continued into the crash.
