THE sister of teenager Jade Lynch has issued an emotional plea during a police press conference - 10 days after she went missing.

Stephanie Lynch, 22, from Warrington had to fight back the tears as she called on the public's help to trace her younger sibling.

She said: "We just want to know that she is safe because it's not like her not to be in contact with anyone for 10 days.

"We hear from her all the time. She visits my nanna all the time.

"I really just want to know that she's ok and that's all.

"It would mean the world to me because as she's got older we have got so much closer."

Cheshire Police detective superintendent Jon Betts said: “Jade is a young 14-year-old girl who has now been missing for nine days, and we are becoming increasingly concerned about her safety.

“Following enquires we can now confirm that Jade left her address on Denton Green Lane at approximately 1pm on Saturday, March 26, heading for St Helens town centre with her two younger brothers.

"While on her way to town Jade then told her brothers that she was going to meet somebody and they parted company in the Duke Street area of St Helens. Jade has not been seen or heard from since.

“Jade is an extremely vulnerable person and we do not believe that she has access to any cash or mobile phones, which is causing growing concerns.”

Jade is described as white, approximately 5ft 6 inches, of medium build, with long straight black hair.

At the time she was last seen she was wearing a black hoodie with black trousers and white Nike trainers.

Her sister Stephanie added: "I love her so much and we just want to know she's ok.

"We care so much about her. We are all going through something and we want to know she's ok.

"She's grown into her own these past few years.

"She used to quiet but as she got older we've really connected.

"She's into make-up and wants to go into the army.

"She's obsessed with cadets. She's become her own person and we want to see that again."

Jade’s grandmother Shirley Grimshaw has also called for Jade to get in touch with either a family member, friend or the police.
