CRAWSHAWS is set to open its doors for the first time at Birchwood Shopping Centre on Monday, February 15. 

The new opening will create 18 jobs for the local area and marks the 40th opening for the company.

The £250,000 investment into Birchwood is part of the Rotherham-based retailer’s planned growth strategy.

By 2022, Crawshaws Group will invest £200m, opening 200 stores and creating 2,500 jobs, and therefore securing its status as a national brand.

CEO, Noel Collett said: "Birchwood is the ideal location for our opening, with over 4.5 million shoppers visiting the shopping complex each year, we’re confident we can offer all of them something new and exciting.

"We pride ourselves on our fantastic quality meat at amazing everyday low prices. Why pay supermarket prices when we are 35 per cent cheaper?"

Gary Jones, centre manager from Birchwood Shopping Centre, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Crawshaws to Birchwood, they have completed our retail structure as we are now fully let.

"We know from our customer research that our shoppers want a butchers and complemented with Crawshaws’ food to go offer, we’re confident customers will be delighted with their arrival.”

The new store can be found at 25 Dewhurst Road, Birchwood Shopping Centre.

It will be open from 8am until 6pm from Monday to Saturday and from 9am until 4:30pm on Sundays.
