MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays after an accident on Winwick Road this morning, Friday, and an overturned lorry on the M6.

The A49 Winwick Road into town was shut between the motorway junction at Winwick and the island by the old Fordton and new Aldi building.

The road reopened around 7.45am but traffic is moving slowly in the direction of the town.

The crash is believed to have involved three cars.

Two lanes and the exit slip road to westbound M56 and A50 at Lymm were closed due to overturned lorry and recovery work on the M6 northbound at junction 20 M56 at the Lymm Interchange.

There is congestion on the M6 to junction 19 A556 at Knutsford.

The slip road from the M6 heading onto the Chester bound M56 was also closed.

But all lanes have reopened.
