A JAZZ singer has marked one year of performing for dementia patients at Warrington Hospital.
Bexi Owen has entertained hundreds of dementia sufferers with her singing on the hospital’s Forget Me Not ward over the last year.
The Forget Me Never project has combined classic music with authentic vintage memorabilia to create an experience which helps to encourage wellbeing and social interaction in people living with dementia.
She set up the project after performing at Second World War events and seeing the veterans react to hearing songs from their youth.
Bexi said: “I’m so excited we’ve completed the first year and it’s gone so well.
“We’ve visited hundreds of people living with dementia, raised awareness and most importantly made people happy.
“This year I’m planning to expand the project to work with people with other health issues as music is so beneficial.”
