A CAFE worker from London who was found with MDMA and cannabis outside the Creamfields site in Daresbury has avoided jail.

Daniel Hadebe, 28, appeared at Halton Magistrates' Court last Wednesday and pleaded guilty to being in possession of the two drugs, as well as bk-MDEA, on August 24 last year.

Prosecution solicitor Sarah Hayes said the defendant was a passenger in a Honda vehicle when he was spotted.

She added: "He was searched and found to have a bag of white crystals. A tobacco tin was also found containing cannabis."

After an analysis, officers also discovered a 'small bag' of bk-MDEA.

Defence solicitor Simon Dunn told the court his client had never previously been to a police station.

He said: "It is a small amount and he has no previous convictions. I would say this is at the lower end.

"He works in his sister's cafe in Peckham."

The magistrates told Hadebe he did the 'sensible thing' by pleading guilty to the charges.

He was ordered to pay a £343 fine.
