VIOLA Beach have announced their biggest home town show just weeks after selling out their upcoming gig at the Pyramid.

The Warrington indie pop band will perform at the Parr Hall on October 1 less than seven months after their Pyramid concert on March 12.

Viola Beach have become one of the fastest growing bands on the music scene after frontman and former cleaner Kris Leonard sent a track to BBC Introducing while in Warrington Guardian's office toilets.

The four-piece have gone on to tour with the Courteeners and work with Communion Records founder and Mumford and Sons producer Ian Grimble.

Kris, a former Lymm High School pupil, said: "We're very honoured to be announcing a show at the Parr Hall as our second hometown show.

"None of us could have envisioned having our own show at such a prestigious venue where bands like the Rolling Stones and The Stone Roses have played and the fact that it's in our hometown makes it that little bit better."

Kris formed Viola Beach in May 2015 with drummer Jack Dakin after bumping into him at Warrington bus station.

The pair both went to Bradshaw Primary School in Grappenhall but had lost touch.

Kris met guitarist River Reeves on a music course at Priestley College and met bassist Tom at The Lounge in Springfield Street.

So far the band have been championed by Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X and Radio 2 for their single, Swings and Waterslides.

Their next single Boys That Sing is out this Friday and they will be touring with Stockport's Blossoms throughout February.
