Shoppers are warned to be patient this weekend as Cheshire Constabulary anticipates an unusually high volume of traffic on the roads.
Many people are expected to take to Cheshire roads in their hunt for a bargain on Black Friday.
Historically this rush to the shops has caused traffic problems around the county and Cheshire Constabulary are asking to be aware of the increased demand on the road and travel networks.
Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port can experience high levels of traffic onto and off the M53 and the surrounding roads on a normal day, but extra patrols will be deployed this weekend to help manage any situations as they arise to ease congestion.
Cheshire Police are asking motorists to consider their plans over the weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday and to vary their shopping times to make these days as stress-free as possible for all concerned.
Chief inspector Giles Orton said: “Wherever you decide to shop this weekend you are reminded to behave rationally and with dignity.”
