LIVEWIRE has been announced as one of 16 library services in the UK to be a part of a new project.

Warrington’s biggest provider of libraries and learning has been awarded funding to help members of the community improve their digital skills.

The £10,000 awarded will allow LiveWire to work with partners to run pilots of digital inclusion projects using new approaches.

Padgate, Birchwood and Warrington Central Libraries will be used to host the digital sessions.

The national Tinder Foundation programme is part of a six-month research pilot looking into ways to support socially excluded members of the population to learn digital skills.

Tina Redford, LiveWire’s strategic lead for libraries and learning, said: "The grant will allow us to help close the digital divide in Warrington and cater for people in the area who do not have access to computers by offering them the ability to learn to use technology to stay connected.”
