FIREFIGHTERS had to treat a man with smoke inhalation after a blaze on Pool Lane in Lymm.
Crews were called at 8.25pm on Sunday after a pan had been left on the hob and had to give first aid.
A Cheshire Fire spokesman added: "The fire had been put out before the crews arrived but caused damage to parts of the kitchen.
"The occupier was admitted to hospital as a precaution."
