A MARCHING band, which has been making music for more than two decades, is on the hunt for more members to join the line-up.

Warrington Phoenix Drum and Trumpet Corps, which was founded in 1993, have performed in parades during the summer months in and around the north west.

The band has even showcased their talents in international events such as the Lord Mayor’s Show and Edinburgh Cavalcade.

Band secretary Kath Middleton said: "We are made up mostly of former members of a variety of local bands and the current age range is between 18 and 70.

"Playing a wide range of brass and percussion instruments, the focus is very much on performing traditional marching band music in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

"Although the ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage, it is by no means essential."

All instruments and other equipment are provided by the band.

The band meets once a week on a Friday from 7.30pm to 9pm at the Working Men’s Mission on Thewlis Street off Liverpool Road.

Drop-ins are invited to attend sessions up until November 6.
