TWO dogs are under the care of officers from the RSPCA after the pets were seized from a property on Wilderspool Causeway earlier today.
Police and RSPCA officers attended an address at around 12pm today, Friday, following concerns about dangerous dogs.
One of the dogs is understood to have been used in a violent crime in 2009.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Two dogs were taken from the address after the person present said the dogs were his.
“It transpired he didn’t have permission off the landlord to keep the dogs and they have been handed over to the RSPCA for rehoming.”
The spokesman added: “Dogs are not weapons.
“We will take action against irresponsible owners who use their dogs to attack people or animals.
“Owning a dog is a serious responsibility.
“Treat them with the care they deserve for the loyalty they give you.”
