ORGANISERS have confirmed the second market in Latchford will take place on September 27 following the huge success of the first one last month.

Latchford Village Traders hosted the market on August 23, which according to the area's historical society was the first such event of its kind.

Around 200 residents from across the town turned out but preparations to ensure the next one is just as memorable are now in full effect.

Teresa Thomas, co-owner of Picturesq, which is one of the businesses involved, has revealed the market will definitely be a monthly occurrence and praised the public for turning out in their numbers.

"It went really well and there was something for everyone," she said.

"It was mainly a farmers' market and we had many things including meat, pies and cheeses on offer, but there were also crafts and toys so everyone was pleased.

"People got the chance to see what fresh produce the farmers had on offer – that is great as they can see what there is and come back if pleased.

"Residents from all over Warrington came, which was brilliant.

"We want to show people what we have in the village as there is so much on offer here."

Attention may have turned to the end of the month but the vision from all involved remains clear.

"We were not sure how everything would go but we had to give it a go," added Teresa.

"But the response has been great and after getting started we now have a plan.

"Hopefully we can keep getting more stalls and more people here."

The market will again be supported by The Latchford Big Local Partnership, as well as the traders.
