A POLICE officer needed hospital treatment after he was injured as part of a search to find a missing man from Appleton.
A 22-year-old was reported missing earlier today but he was later found in the car park of Warrington Hospital armed with a knife.
A spokesman for Cheshire Constabulary said: "At approximately 10.20am on Thursday, August 27, officers from Warrington LPU were called to reports of concern for the safety of a 22 year-old-man in the Appleton area of Warrington.
"Officers attended the address and following a search of the area the man was located at 12.40pm at Warrington Hospital where he is currently being treated.
"The man was armed with a bladed article.
"One officer received minor injuries - he was treated at Warrington Hospital and has since been discharged."
