THE M62 will be closed for up to ten nights between Birchwood and Croft interchange as part of a £900,000 road resurfacing.

The motorway is currently subject to lane closures, but the Westbound carriage will be shut between 10pm and 5am on week nights from Monday August 10.

Drivers will be diverted along Birchwood Way and Woolston Grange Avenue before rejoining the motorway at junction 21A of the M6 while work is underway between junctions 10 and 11.

John Lyssejko, project manager at Highways England, said: “We’ll be completely resurfacing the carriageway between the two junctions to give drivers safer, smoother and more reliable journeys – getting rid of potholes by planning off the old surface, resurfacing and also installing new road studs and road markings.”

The project is due to be completed by Friday August 21.
