THE Parr Hall was filled with song as 300 children from 10 Warrington primary schools performed to a sell-out audience.

Fran Sixsmith, Keyboard Project manager and learning and marketing manager for Accent Music Education Hub, organised the concert to celebrate the children’s learning and progression throughout the year.

Youngsters performed a variety of repertoire and fun vocal medleys including classical, blues, pop and rock during the evening.

Janice Pounds, arts adviser, said: "We are delighted to give the children the opportunity to perform in a prestigious setting.

"It is a wonderful opportunity to build confidence and self-esteem and the standard of performance was excellent and confirms that this type of tuition is very effective."

The Keyboard Project is delivered by Fran Sixsmith and music tutors Su Ancliffe and Heather Rae with weekly music lessons linked to maths and literacy.

The children performing on the night have been learning to play since September 2014.

Schools involved included St Paul of the Cross Catholic Primary, Callands Primary, St. Augustine’s Catholic Primary, Burtonwood Community Primary, The Heath School, Runcorn, Meadowside Community Primary, Our Lady’s Catholic Primary, Alderman Bolton Community Primary, Oakwood Avenue Community Primary, St Bridget’s Catholic Primary and Cherry Tree Primary.
