WOMENS football team Warrington Wolverines will be playing a special memorial match this weekend against Pennington Ladies for their beloved friend and former player Charlotte Sant.

The two teams the former Penketh High School pupil loved to play for are going head-to-head in a friendly to remember a 'gorgeous girl everyone knew and loved'.

The 24-year-old died after an accident on a dune buggy in Qatar while visiting sand dunes with her boyfriend last month.

A Wolverines spokesman added: "We will be collecting donations on the day to raise money for the charity of Charlotte's family's choice.

"All of Charlotte's family and friends are welcome to come along and watch the girls play the sport that Charlotte loved so much.

"Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed every minute of playing for both Warrington and Pennington and made some great friends during her playing career."

Kick off is 2pm on Sunday at the Orford Jubilee Hub after LiveWire kindly offered their 3G pitch.
