TWO police raids have been carried out on properties in Warrington as officers crack down on drug supply and use in the town.

A small quantity of cannabis was seized from a flat in Valiant Close in Padgate today, Monday.

Officers raided the flat at around 8.30am, which was empty at the time.

No arrests have been made in relation to the raid.

A quantity of cannabis and a substance believed to be crack cocaine were found in a second property on Grasmere Avenue in Orford following a raid at around 8.30am.

Drugs paraphernalia were also seized from the property.

Four people - two men and two women - have been arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs.

The suspects have been taken to custody for questioning.

The warrants were carried out by officers from Warrington Local Police Unit and Cheshire Constabulary Task Force under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Sergeant Mark Spaven said: “Tackling the use and supply of illegal drugs in the  community is one Cheshire Police priorities and the warrants executed today demonstrate our commitment to dealing with theses issues."
