TEAMS battled it out on the pitch as part of a charity match to raise money in memory of Private Tom Sephton on Saturday.

The event has been growing in strength since it was launched six years ago and this weekend's fundraiser was no exception.

Crowds gather to watch a number of team fight it out for the title.

But the main event was the Tom Sephton Memorial Trophy when ARLFC Select XIII took on The Royal Logistic Corps Rugby League.

Fund raised will be donated to Combat Stress – a veterans' mental health charity founded in 1919 after the First World War.

But while the day was hailed as a success, it did not end with celebrations after thieves raided the changing rooms, stealing wallets, cash, phones and a watch.
