CHESHIRE Dogs Home is looking for new owners for a pet who is lucky to be alive.
Azora, a female cross-breed, was found as a stray in the town and taken to the centre in Grappenhall.
On close inspection, the charity's veterinary surgeon found a serious stab wound that had missed Azora's vital organs by just a millimetre.
“It is horrifying to think that someone could do this to a dog,” said Anna Stansfield, home manager at Cheshire Dogs Home.
“Our vet was shocked and so were we – Azora is very lucky to be alive.
She is a very affectionate dog, still understandably traumatised from her ordeal but the kind of girl who will make a lovely companion animal with responsible and loving owners.”
Anyone interested in giving Azora a loving home should contact Cheshire Dogs’ Home on 0844 504 1212.
