AN Appleton teenager has swapped the classroom for the catwalk after she was shortlisted in the Goldsmiths Jewellers intu Trafford Centre Next Top Model competition.
Ellie Hayes, who starts a three-year sports therapy course at UCLAN in September, is one of eight from the north west to be in with the chance of winning a £500 jewellery prize and a VIP Goldsmiths Jewellers party in July.
The 19-year-old said she was amazed to have made the cut.
She said: “I’d love to win the competition, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but even to get this far is fantastic.”
Goldsmiths intu Trafford Centre Next Top Model will be judged at the end of June by a panel of fashion experts, including designer, Nadine Merabi.
Goldsmiths executive marketing director, Ruth Benford, said: “We’re looking for natural beauty, confidence and a sparkling personality which shines through in pictures, and someone who adds that extra special sparkle to our celebrations.” The Goldsmiths Next Top Model winner will be announced in July.
