PIXIE LOTT is heading to Warrington to play a one-off live show in Bank Park.

The four-time BRIT award nominee will headline Warrington Festival, three weeks of events being held in September to celebrate sport, culture and entertainment in the town.

It will be the first time that Pixie, whose 2009 debut album Turn It Up reached platinum status, will perform in the town.

Chris Persoglio, venue and events manager for Culture Warrington, said: “I am pleased we are able to confirm an artist as successful and internationally recognised as Pixie Lott to perform during the Warrington Festival.

“I am in no doubt tickets will prove extremely popular for what will be a great event in Bank Park Warrington.”

Plans for Warrington Festival, which has been organised by a group of partners including LiveWire, Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Wolves, Culture Warrington, Contest Sports and Warrington and Co, were announced last week.

It will include 25 events in 25 days including the English half marathon, LiveWire mile, heritage open days and a medieval market.

Jan Souness, LiveWire and Culture Warrington managing director, said: “We are proud and excited to be launching the Warrington Festival in September.

“The festival is a celebration event and we want the people of Warrington to feel inspired to try something new.”

The festival has been organised following the success of the Rugby League World Cup in 2013 and will see events, which are set to attract a broad range of attendees from across the region into Warrington, held across the borough.

Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of Warrington Borough Council, said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to celebrate Warrington.

"People really got behind the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, and we are looking forward to seeing the same tide of enthusiasm for the Warrington Festival.’ Pixie will perform at the park on September 19 and tickets, priced at £14, will be available from Wednesday at 9am from pyramidparrhall.com or by calling 442345.
