A PENSIONER who pinched thousands of pounds worth of designer glasses has been handed a 12-month conditional discharge order.
Cornielius Wooley, from Liverpool, appeared at Halton Magistrates on Tuesday last week charged with two counts of theft after stealing specs worth £2,267 from Specsavers and £3,750 worth from Boots in the town centre on April 25.
The 71-year-old was caught as part of an undercover operation by officers to stop shoplifters.
