THE funeral of a former councillor who suffered from Alzheimer's will take place on Friday.
John Clarke, who served the Rixton and Woolston ward, died aged 90 on May 16.
He was a member of the council from the late 1970s to the early 1990s and also served as a magistrate.
He retired from the council in 1998.
Mayor Cllr Geoff Settle said: "I never met him but I believe that he made a big impact for the people."
The service will take place at Walton Lea Crematorium at 4.20pm.
As a mark of respect the borough flag at the Town Hall will be flown at half-mast on Friday.
