FIZZ fans in the town have been stocking up on prosecco amid fears of a global shortage of the Italian version of champagne.
Residents in Lymm have clearly been taking the rumours of a prosecco drought seriously with the Co-Operative store on Cherry Lane selling out on Friday.
This follows the news that bad weather in several Italian wine-growing regions may have caused prosecco production to drop.
Rachel Spencer, of Pepper Street, Lymm said: "We went to the Co-Operative on Friday night to stock up for our friend Karen Garton's 40th and they had completely sold out - not just the ones on offer either.
"Apparently people had been in filling their baskets all day after it was announced there was going to be a prosecco shortage."
