A CREAMFIELDS drug dealer was handed a 14-month prison sentence after being caught at the festival with MDMA, ketamine and methadrone.

Warrington Crown Court heard on Thursday officers stopped Kallan Richardson on August 23 last year after he was spotted being approached by revellers and cash appeared to be exchanged.

Paulinus Barnes, prosecuting, said the 21-year-old attempted to run away and had to be forced to the ground by officers.

He was found with 10 packages of MDMA, which had a Creamfields value of £200, ketamine valued at £30, five wraps of methadrone valued at £50 and £1,075 in cash.

Messages on his phone were also found asking what Richardson had for sale and the price.

Richardson, who had previous convictions for drugs possession going back to 2007, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession with intent to supply.

Jeremy Rawson, defending, gave judge Nicholas Woodward a letter from Richardson's employer.

He added: "He has a history of recreational drug use but when he has something to occupy his time he applies himself diligently."

Judge Woodward said Creamfields was 'consistently plagued' by people like Richardson selling drugs at high prices and a custodial sentence was the only option.
