WORK to start the demolition of Time Square finally got under way this week.

Contractors started on the old B&M building today, Tuesday.

Access to the site has been closed off for more than a week following delays before work could begin.

When the whole site has been cleared, it will be the heart of a £100million development to include a cinema and restaurants.

But Warrington Market traders are keen to spread the word the work does not mean the market has closed and it will stay open throughout while first a temporary and then a permanent market hall are built.
