WARRINGTON North’s UKIP candidate has said party leader Nigel Farage ‘could’ visit the town after the General Election.
Trevor Nicholls is hopeful Mr Farage, who is bidding to become MP for South Thanet, will come to Warrington and reaffirmed his belief that rival parties are ‘running scared’.
Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Ed Miliband have both made high-profile visits to the town in the run-up to the election.
"I think the parties are worried," said Mr Nicholls.
"I can’t remember them knocking on doors like this and in Warrington North Labour are knocking on doors like never before.
"Hopefully Mr Farage can make a visit to the town – he could do and I certainly hope he does."
With just days remaining until the races for each constituency seat in the town come to a close, Mr Nicholls remains confident of stunning his rivals.
He added: "It is an uphill task but people on the streets are backing me – it is really nice to hear.
"A 7000 majority turnaround is an uphill task but I am confident."
