MODERN slavery, illicit trade and organised cybercrime are just three of the topic which were discussed during Cheshire Constabulary's business conference on Thursday.

The aim of the conference was to find the best way forward for the business community to work together with these force to tackle the issues.

Chief constable Simon Byrne said: “Vibrant communities need good policing and I’m of the opinion that the police need to be on the front foot when it comes to tackling crime.

"Business crime has been reducing year on year, but the constabulary are starting to see emerging demands in other areas such as modern slavery and trafficking.

The constabulary take business crime seriously.

"By opening this two way dialogue we can work together for a brighter future.”

Following the success of the conference, it was decided that the meeting will take place on a regular basis.
