AFTER reading about one of your readers being fined twice at Warrington Hospital, I wanted to put my feelings forward.

I recently dropped my mum and dad off at the hospital. My dad has had two heart attacks and has rheumatoid arthritis so he cannot walk too far.

After driving round for 10 minutes and finding no parking spaces I had to drop them off at the front entrance and let them walk in. I drove round for another 10 minutes before I found a parking space on the other side of the main hospital building, not far from A&E. This had signs saying permit holders and disabled badge holders only, nothing else.

I checked all the other cars for tickets and there were only badge holders and permit holders, and there were no other signs.

To my dismay, my dad got a parking fine a few days later, which he has paid because he is old school and doesn’t want the hassle but that’s not right.

I went back a couple of weeks later to check. I was right about there being no signs.

Guess what I saw. At the opening of the parking we went into, an 8-ft pole with ‘penalty if parking without a ticket’.

The hospital or so-called company taking all these fines should be brought to account as it is a rip off.

Ripping off the disabled, ripping off the ill, another tax, Where does this extra money go?

It certainly doesn’t go on the parking because there isn’t enough and it doesn’t go on the car park itself because it’s a mess with potholes everywhere.

We all need to get this changed.

Spending money on cameras clocking you going in and out of the hospital, how do they know where you have been? Are they charging you now for driving round the hospital because you cannot get a space?
