YOUNGSTERS at Rylands Recreational Rugby Club took to their training session after receiving advice from a special guest last Monday.
Warrington Wolves star Ryan Atkins visited the Orford club, based on Gorsey Lane, to dish out his tips for the under sevens team to take on board.
Although being unable to take to the field following his injury lay-off, the centre was keen to help the aspiring stars during discussions on the sideline.
"The kids absolutely loved it and I don't think they will be forgetting this," said John Houghton, Pro Green's European operations manager.
"It was a really good event - Ryan came down and went through the basics of the game with the players before they trained for an hour."
Lead head coach of Rylands, Chris McGann, who helps to fund the under sevens team, watched on as his players executed the tips given by Atkins.
But now attention turns to renovation work, with plans firmly in place to improve the state of the club's facilities.
"We take on landscapers to put back into the community and have looked all around Warrington," added Mr Houghton.
"We are looking forward to the work that we will be doing here."
