THE Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) candidate for Warrington South will have the chance to address the audience ahead of tonight’s hustings session at Bold Street Methodist Mission.

Cllr Kevin Bennett (TUSC – Fairfield and Howley) spoke of his anger after claiming he had been ‘sidelined’ from the event at the church on Palmyra Square North.

Organised by Churches Together, the Warrington South session is welcoming all candidates with current political representation at Westminster – a stance which has always been implemented.

As a result, Cllr Bennett has not been given the chance to take a seat on the panel along with rival candidates.

The meeting will be chaired by the Rev Stephen Kingsnorth, of Warrington Borough Ministry.

He said: “It is the same position that we have always held – that has not changed.

“He won’t be a panel member but will be given three minutes to talk to people at the start.”

Cllr Bennett has highlighted the importance of giving those in attendance the chance to hear his views and welcomed the chance to speak.

BBC Radio will be in town to record the session.

It begins at 7.30pm and all are welcome to attend.
