UKIP'S candidate for Warrington North believes the introduction of fines for persistent boozers who end up in A&E could be beneficial for the town.
Trevor Nicholls insists the move could bring an end to 'repeat offenders' costing the NHS crucial funds but like party leader, Nigel Farage, he feels it should only be used for those continually at fault.
"It is certainly something that we can look at," said Mr Nicholls, who is also standing in the Warrington Borough Council elections for the Poplars and Hulme ward.
"It could most certainly help it and it does need to be looked at - I think it could be a good thing.
"It would stop repeat offenders - those who are continually doing it."
Under UKIP, Mr Farage confirmed the measure would not be for those 'offending' for the first time.
