OFFICERS have issued a warning to parents following reports of a man acting suspiciously outside a Whitecross primary school earlier today, Monday.

A man has been reported to Cheshire Police after he was seen trying to gain the attention of children outside Sacred Heart School on Selby Street.

Officers have confirmed that a man - believed to be in his 30s - beckoned for one of the children to come over at 12.20pm.

He then swore at the child before running off.

The mystery man is described as white with brown hair and was wearing a black coat and jeans.

Police have since stepped up patrols in the area.
