IT has been a source of humour for visiting comedians and celebrities to the town with stand-up comic Alan Carr describing it as 'Willy Wonka's factory'.
But bosses at the Unilever factory next to Bank Quay station have now revealed the reason behind the brightly-coloured 'doodles' along five towers at the site.
A spokesman added: “As part of a renovation project, we have painted our five silos with some of the symbols from the Unilever logo.
"They each represent a different part of the business – for example, the long-sleeved shirt represents clothes and laundry, which is particularly pertinent to Warrington where we manufacture laundry powders, and the water droplets represent our work to reduce the water associated with the making and use of our products."
