YOUNG people have had their say on policing during a meeting to discuss their needs and expectations from the police.

A total of 23 young people from groups including Youth Cabinet, Police Cadets and Children in Care Council have spoken out about how they would like to see policing change in the town.

The event is the first in a series of opportunities for young people to influence the way in which Cheshire Police works with young people and help to design the new strategy.

Youth ambassador, Dominic Rogers said: "Giving young people the chance to be actively involved in setting the strategic direction for the constabulary is a great opportunity for them to get their voices heard.

"Only by listening to what young people want from the officers that serve them can we ensure that policing is meeting the needs of children and young people in Cheshire."
