A MAN masquerading as a water board worker has conned a woman from Culcheth into inviting him into her home.
Police say an unknown man visited the victim's house on Broseley Lane in Culcheth on Tuesday at around 10am - claiming to be from the water board.
The victim allowed the man to enter her home in order to check the water pressure.
The man left the victim in the kitchen to watch for blue water coming out of the tap while he went upstairs to check the water pressure.
When the man left, she discovered that her drawers had been opened and her purse was missing from the living room.
Officers have since issued a reminder to residents not to let any cold callers into your home who have not made a prior arrangement.
