A MAN who stole from a vulnerable pensioner has appeared in court after breaching the terms of a restraining order.
David Ford, of Arpley Street, was banned from contacting his elderly victim after he was caught stealing from the 82-year-old's account using their bank card last year.
The 58-year-old was sentenced on March 17, 2014, for stealing just under £400.
It was during this sentencing that a restraining order was imposed until March 17 of this year.
The order includes conditions not to contact the victim and not to enter Laira Court.
But on February 18, residents at the retirement housing home called the police after Ford entered the building after contacting the victim via the intercom.
Ford left prior to the police arriving but was later identified in CCTV footage.
He was arrested in Warrington town Centre after officers spotted him wearing the same clothes as in the CCTV.
He pleaded guilty to the offence on March 3.
He was handed a four week curfew at Halton Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The restraining order was also extended to March 2017 and his original sentence was varied to 16 weeks suspended for 18 months.
