A WARNING has been issued to parents after two pupils were followed as they walked to Broomfields Primary School last week.
Police say the two youngsters were walking along Bridge Lane in Appleton when they noticed that a suspicious-looking youth was following them.
He was described as having facial piercings and about 5 feet 8 inches tall.
The police were called and officers have decided to increase the number of patrols in the area.
Parents at the school have since been notified of the incident via its newsletter.
A police spokesman said: "At 9.51am on Thursday, February 27, police received a report of a male acting suspiciously near to a school in Bridge Lane, Appleton, during the two previous mornings.
"Patrols have since been stepped up in the area to provide additional visibility and reassurance."
