THE Eve Shepherd memorial charity match has raised £1,000 in memory of the brave teenager who died last month.

Eve died suddenly on February 1 at her home in Padgate after struggling with her breathing.

The charity match, which kicked off on Sunday, was raising cash for three charities close to her family's hearts.

Woolston Rovers RLFC played against Cadishead Rhinos ARLFC at the charity match which took place at Monks Sports in Woolston.

Team members also organised a raffle, auction and pitch-side collection.

All money raised is to be split Peter Pan ward at Great Ormond Street, Alder Hey Bereavement team and Warrington Animal Welfare.

Eve's mum Jane said: "We are so proud of them all and Eve would be beaming with pride."
