A STRETTON hotel has invested in life-saving equipment for guests thanks to the support of the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS).

Five Automated External Defibrillators (AED) have been placed by the service in QHotels including the Park Royal.

David McNally, community resuscitation manager for NWAS, said: “We are increasingly seeing more people saved by these machines.

"It is part of our initiative to place defibrillators in areas where there is a higher risk of cardiac arrest and to help people recognise the warning signs and act accordingly.”

NWAS launched a campaign last month at the House of Commons calling for it to be compulsory to place AEDs in all public places, and is striving to make it compulsory for school leavers to learn crucial life-saving skills such as CPR.
