AN OPPORTUNISTIC vandal has continued his crime spree by causing more criminal damage to cars.

Four further incidents of vandalism involving red paint have been reported in the west of Warrington.

Police remain on the hunt for the mindless vandal following a series of random attacks involving paint being thrown onto cars.

Inspector Chris Adkins has launched an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

He said: "We are following a number of lines of enquiry but we have yet to identify the offender and we appeal to the public for information.

"The male responsible is committing random acts of criminal damage which is totally unacceptable and the team and I are committed to bringing this male to justice."

The wanted man has left a trail of destruction after hurling paint onto a number of vehicles – some while the cars are on the road.

Officers are currently investigating 21 reported incidents but the number of damaged vehicles is understood to be higher as some reports involve more than one car.

The suspect is believed to be a white man in his 20s to 30s.

The male offender is described as being of slim-build, riding a dark-coloured bike and is normally wearing a dark-coloured hoodie with the hood up.

The attacks, which started on February 8, have happened around the west of Warrington but there has recently been a cluster of offences reported around the Bewsey and Whitecross area.

The latest attacks were reported to have taken place on Tuesday evening in Great Sankey.

Investigations are continuing and patrols have been increased in the targeted areas.

Anyone with information is urged to call PC Christopher Orme on 101 or via e-mail on warrington.west.npu@cheshire.pnn.police.uk.
