STOCKTON Heath Primary School has under gone a 'rapid pace of improvement’ after it was ordered to improve by Ofsted inspectors.

The school, which has gone from requires improvement to good, was commended for ‘significant improvements in teaching, the quality of the learning environment and pupils’ progress’.

The school also achieved an outstanding rating in the behaviour and safety of pupils, who were praised for their ‘behaviour, manners and politeness unfailingly impressive’.

The report stated that ‘no stone is left unturned in securing its good improvement’ and outlines how governors provide ‘strong challenge and support and play a crucial part in planning the schools future’.

Rachel Brougham, chairman of governors, said described it as a proud day for those involved.

She added: "It is fully deserved and a great milestone on our path of continuing improvement.”

Head teacher, Dan Harding, added: “This latest report clearly shows how much this school has improved and progressed over the past two to three years.

"The incredible hard work and dedication of our staff, governors and most importantly children has made this outcome possible but the report also rightly recognises the crucial role our parents have played in supporting the school in its development."

The report has made some recommendations to help the school further improve standards in pupils’ writing, marking systems and managing teachers’ expectations.
