EACH week in 2015 we will be celebrating the people who help make Warrington special.

Inspired by the Humans of New York blog, we will be providing names to faces you may see everyday and telling their stories.

NAME: Karen Dolderson

AGE: 50

LIVES: Whittle Hall

OCCUPATION: Florist at Leon Van Berkel Flowers next to Boots in the Golden Square

"Around the time of the recession the whole flower industry went down and after 12 years there wasn't a job for me.

"I worked in the Next garden centre but it was a bit robotic and then we opened in the Golden Square before Mother's Day last year so this will be our first experience of Valentine's day in Warrington.

"It's nice to be inside after spending years out in the cold.

"In the past I have worked on markets in Manchester and the Altrincham ladies are very different to the Urmston ladies.

"Warrington is a really friendly town and the customers are really nice.

"The owner of the stall is from Holland and uses Dutch and English growers.

"He's been here for more than 20 years now and goes back to pick chincherinchee and gladioli fresh from his brother's field.

"They're massive and it's nice selling them to people knowing they came from the family's field."
