A BIRCHWOOD based nuclear and waste management company believes a Conservative victory at the General Election will improve its business potential.

Kurion has eight facilities worldwide but the move to Birchwood's Cinnamon Park is its first European site, with current headquarters mapped in nations across the globe including America and Japan.

Now with May 7 in site, the company's senior vice president of European operations admits a Conservative approach could help sustain growth.

"A Conservative Government worldwide tends to be good for nuclear business and good for nuclear clean-up which is interesting," said Phil Ohl.

"I think the party tends to fund nuclear clean-up more impressively than some parties."

Another issue on the agenda for businesses in the town is the congestion problems but Mr Ohl insists the matter is not particularly worse in the town than in nearby areas.

"There is a rush hour problem but it is not only in Warrington, you can get that wherever you go," he added.
