PUPILS stepped back in time for a special history day hosted at Penketh High School.
More than 90 youngsters from primary schools in the area headed to the Heath Road school for classes with the Penketh and Sankey Heritage Society.
Teachers said it was a nice afternoon where the 'younger generation got to learn from the elder generation'.
