THE two best friends of Becci Dadswell have spoken of their 'beautiful' companion as they look to drive a campaign to raise money for her baby daughter.

Becci, a Warrington police officer, died in mystery circumstances four weeks after giving birth to Bella.

Louise Maunders had been friends with the Widnes resident for 26 years, since their school days in Becci's home town of Romsey.

A memorial service was held at Romsey Abbey on Friday, which more than 200 people attended.

Since the 35-year-old's shock death on January 5, Louise, and Charlotte Swithenbank, also a best friend since high school, have been campaigning to raise money for Bella's education.

The fundraising, started by Louise, has seen more than £7,000 donated so far.

She said: "After Becci passed away, Charlotte and I went to be with Simon (Becci's husband).

"It became quite apparent quite quickly that people wanted to help and the fund for Bella was a way to do that.

"The fund is quite important because it's not for Becci, it's for a little baby who doesn't have her mum."

Charlotte and Louise paid tribute to the hugely popular policewoman, who was also a loving mum to step-children, teenagers Lydia and Daisy.

"Becci was the most amazing friend you could have asked for; she was caring, friendly, loved life and lived it to the full," said Charlotte.

"She would brighten anyone’s day, was forever happy and smiley with a twinkle in her eye.

"Becci was a beautiful person inside and out and will always be missed but never forgotten."

The keen singer's Facebook page, which includes a video tribute from family featuring Becci's version of 'Everytime' by Britney Spears, has had more than 100,000 views.

Louise, who spent childhood days 'chasing cows and sitting in fields' with her best friend and a later holiday to Las Vegas in 2006, is not surprised by the reaction.

She added: "Wherever Becci went, she was happy.

"She was one of life's special people with a beautiful smile she never stopped smiling."
