A PHOTOGRAPHER has caused a Facebook stir after claiming to have been duped by a woman on the Tesco Warrington car park into adopting a three-legged goat.

Andy Lyon posted on the Buy and Sell Warrington page he thought it was an elderly Jack Russell with matted fur before later discovering he had been 'palmed off' with a small goat.

Andy, who is originally from Golborne but now lives in Ashton in Makerfield, said the woman had hurriedly handed over the pet before making a dash for it.

The post continues: "A woman put a post up trying to re-home her Jack Russell, I felt sorry for the dog in the picture as it was old and only had 3 legs, so I messaged her and offered to take it in.

"She then asked me to meet her on Tesco car park in Warrington at 2:30 to collect the dog and she seemed to be in a rush to hand him over and be on her way and after getting him home I've now realised that the she has palmed me off with a small 3 legged goat that looks slightly like a Jack Russell, and now when I have tried to message her I've noticed she has blocked & deleted me.

"I wasn't 100% sure so I asked my next door neighbour who used to have a Jack Russell and he said it is definitely a goat.

"I feel quite bad because I don't know what to feed him and he doesn't seem to like pedigree chum."

The post quickly went viral last night with hundreds of comments offering advice and asking if it was a joke.

Warrington Guardian:

But today the Warrington Guardian can reveal he was only 'kidding' after all and had copied the post from writer and comedian Chris Washington, from Lowton.

Andy added: "I just did it to give everyone else a laugh."
