HAVE you been getting heartburn most days for three weeks or more?
Does food seem to be sticking to your throat when you swallow?
If so, the council is encouraging you to visit your GP as part of the national 'Be clear on cancer' campaign focusing on increasing awareness of the signs of stomach cancer or cancer of the food-pipe among over 50s, as they pose the greatest risk of developing the disease.
Cllr Pat Wright, executive board member for health, wellbeing and adult services, said: “The message from us is don’t learn to live with it, tell your doctor.
"We’re supporting this national campaign and want to help raise awareness of the symptoms of this type of cancer."
