ORGANISERS of a scheme, which has seen classic Warrington Wolves games played with former players providing the commentary, have so far described it as a success.

State of Mind, which was set up to improve the mental health of rugby league players and communities, have teamed up with Warrington Wolves and the club's foundation to deliver the four-week programme.

More than 30 people attended the first two sessions which saw former players Gary Sanderson and Paul Ford talk about the build-up, half-time team talk and also what happened after the 1986 Premiership Final versus Halifax.

Dr Phil Cooper, who has been behind the sessions said feedback had been 'extremely positive'.

He added: "BBC Panorama filmed the session last week showing the 1986 Premiership Final as an example of a health initiative that seeks to work with rugby league fans and communities.

"The former players loved seeing the game again, bringing their winners' medal and answering questions about the build-up that gave a fascinating insight into the game.

"The project has far exceeded our expectations and the last game even attracted the former Bradford Bulls Psychiatrist Dr Alan Johnston (a Bradford fan) who has travelled across to watch the 1991 Regal Trophy final tonight."

Head to Dallam Community Primary School at 6pm tonight, Monday, to see the 1991 Regal Trophy Final, Warrington v Bradford.

The final free session of the scheme takes place on February 2 at 3pm at Bewsey Park Community Centre which will see a replay of Andrew Johns debut match Warrington Wolves v Leeds Rhinos.
